I grew up in the ‘late 50’s..early 60’s ‘down under’ in a country called Australia.. Television was not happening in every house in my part of the world., Sure we had newspapers and they had cartoons.,but my all-time favourite cartoon on  TV was The Road Runner.

The road runner ,( character known as Beep Beep) was a flightless bird ( fashioned on a bird called a chaparral)

Wile E Coyote and the Road Runner bird were the main characters and the coyote was constantly setting traps on how to catch the road runner bird for his supper.

The cartoon characters came from the Looney Tunes and the series first appeared in 1949 but were discontinued  twenty years later because it was deemed to be showing too much violence for the audience it was produced for.

I enjoyed it because it showed one could succeed if they didn’t give up. I was sensible enough to understand it was only a cartoon and one should not try to copy what they saw in the cartoon.
