What’s your dream job?
When I was going to school, in Australia, my dream job was to be a Governess ( a woman who was employed in a private household to provide education lessons for the children) usually many hundreds of miles from any large cities..
In similar circumstances in other countries, one may have been called a Nanny and did similar tasks of caring for someone’s children and teaching them basic education.
But like a lot of things in life, that work never eventuated. I’ve always been a keen reader and enjoyed writing to penfriends in many different countries around the world . So the desire to write my own stories and live the life one reads in books has also been a dream.
In a way, though, I’ve lived my dream in similar positions.
I’ve worked with Charity organisations who support people with challenging lives, walking ( figuratively speaking) with them through life’s tough times and being there for them when their family couldn’t be there..
I always wanted to own a gift store and sell locally handmade goods and teach other people how to be creative.. but that never happened, either. I did manage a craft group for about 10 years, so all in all, one could say I’ve lived my Dream job.
