The people I admire and are no longer living are my ancestors from my mother’s side of the family.

My mother’s grandparents left their country of birth, Prussia, to travel to Australia for a better life during the 1860’s.

I might often complain about not being able to buy a certain product or obtain a particular service from a professional individual, but 165 years ago they lived with the motto my mother said her grandparents told her ..’put up, shut up & make do…

Yes, they were hard times, but they survived with the skills they had to make do with what was available and not complain if things didn’t work out or there wasn’t sufficient food for nourishment.

I admire their courage to live in such times of severe hardship
