I do not do ‘just random acts of kindness’ but each day I’m aware how I can reach out and make anyone feel special whether it is someone I know or a person I’ve just met.

I was born with issues that made my appearance different from others, so for whatever reason, people chose to call me names,  push me around, and do things to make my life miserable. One would think that the human trait would be teaching children to be kind,  polite and respectful to others each day.

There is a quote that is quite apt for this situation.  The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree- meaning that behaviours are often quite innocently picked up at home.

Firstly, I was quite anxious about the situation and would retaliate, but then after I turned towards God, he showed me a different path in life.  He showed that despite the circumstances, I should be kind to others. I learned about forgiveness and God gave me the gift of Shining my Light of Kindness – to be there for Others, who sadly had slipped through the tracks of goodness and often were mistreated by family and friends in their short lives: until they felt there was nothing left.

Sadly, humans often feel that they need to have violent thoughts or behaviour towards others but if I can change the thought pattern of one person and instil kindness instead of hatred then my Shining Light of Kindness is working somewhere throughout the world.
