Relaxation…the forgotten mode..

How do you relax?

From even before my feet hit the floor,  my mind is racing. I try to breathe gently in for 7… hold for 4 …out gently – lips pursed and breath gently lifted over for 8… repeat repeat. Focus on my breath not the churning, grinding noise in my head.

Meditation, mindfulness thinking, being in nature – one on one focusing on the clouds in the sky, the birds flying  near by the fragrance of nearby flowers that hits my senses…does it work?

I have to say YES, I’m in a really messy part of my life now and as my fingers hit the keys, my brain is saying, wait..don’t go there! God is nudging me reminding me I am His always.

Everything will be okay, reassurance.  The tears are drifting down my face… I need freedom.. I yearn for freedom… but there are so many hurdles to cross and is the freedom I am seeking the correct move for me!.

Maybe it’s not time, I glance at the washing machine and realise the light is no longer on, the cycle has finished.

Yes, it is time, well time to hang the washing on the line… time to focus on the clouds and the birds flying by, time to snatch a moment of relaxation for me.

Take the time to relax. it’s worth it.
