What is your favorite place to go in your city?

My favourite place yo go in the city is the Botanical Gardens.

In the place I live they grow a lot of sugar cane and there is an old train that the bins used to store the cane have been  replaced by open carriage so one can enjoy a ride on the train around the gardens. There is also a history section with fascinating information on early pioneers of the area.

And then there are the gardens – made up of different flowers or  trees or shrubs all with information about each type.. There is a man-made lake with a bridge across it and one can stroll across and feed the turtles that live in the water below

There is a lovely Japanese garden with interesting plants and water features, and one can spend meditative time just browsing through the area. There is a restaurant where one can buy an ixecream or a drink or a light snack . I love the big expanse if lawns that are fun for oversize family picnics or smaller private areas where one can stretch out with a good book on a rug or a towel.

Yes the Botanical  Gardens are the place to be, anytime one is free.
