What is the biggest challenge you will face in the next six months?

As February comes to a close, I take a moment to reflect on the journey this year has taken me on. I’m excited about the path ahead and the growth I’ve experienced so far.

I’m constantly challenged by health issues for myself and my husband and keeping in front of the cost of living.

Ageing is not something one gives much thought to when they are having a fun time during their ‘ middle’ years but as the body doesn’t have the same elasticity in later years, in can come as quite a shock to the system.

Trying to fathom the best way forward through the myriad of rules of the aged care system will be my great challenge over the next six months.

    Watching my parents navigate this over the past 10 years has made me mindful of my own decisions. The best thing my folks did was make living wills that included their medical choices. This meant mum had her wishes in place when she was dying and while we were heartbroken we knew she had made those decisions with a lot of discussion with dad and when she was well. I miss her every day but she died how she lived- on her own terms.
