What could you let go of, for the sake of harmony?
I know I’m not alone when I say that people in the world today experience things differently to what their grandparents experienced when they lived in the same area or country, maybe 50 – 100 years ago. Technology gives us all, mostly a life that is easily more managed in many areas including transport, manufacture of goods, communication and healthy lifestyle.
We all seem to be in a rush to complete a chore driving to our destination in a fast car where we would have walked or waited for a bus, we buy processed food or order a takeaway instead of going to many markets and buying products to make a meal, we send a text or a msg on a computer.. instead of writing a letter.
In the past doing laundry took most of the day, but now it can be done in an hour; there are pills and operations for restoring our health, where before we sort more natural responses..
So there’s one thing that was around back in those days that appears to have changed not for the better and probably is often aggravated by modern technology, and that is people’s behaviours…
My husband has dementia and as much as I would like to snap back at him when through his behavioural changes, he is quite rude in his outbursts. I just need to keep my mouth closed so that harmony flows through our household.
Yes, it is difficult. I know I’m often correct in something I’ve said, but I prefer to live in harmony.
The youth of today, I’m sure, have the opportunity to be respectful towards others, but they seem to lack the qualities of being polite to people.
Let us live in harmony, changing the angry behaviours within others one day at a time.
